Senior operating capacity, exactly when you need it.
Project-based and embedded leadership for mid-market and private equity-backed retail and consumer businesses by someone who has run transformation, merchandising, and sourcing at the executive level.

Growth has flattened and the board has noticed. The questions in the room are getting harder — where is this headed? — and the leadership team doesn't fully agree on the answer. You need an independent, senior read on what's actually happening, commercially and operationally, and alignment on a plan the team and your investors will buy into.
A transformation is underway and under-resourced. The value-creation plan is sound, but nobody senior has the bandwidth to run it. You need an operator who can own the workstream and get results from the team.
You've made an acquisition and integration is behind plan. Teams, systems, and assortments need to come together without breaking what's working.
You're entering a new market or channel and need the growth case built by someone who has done international and multi-channel expansion, not just modeled it.
If one of these sounds familiar, let’s talk. I bring judgment, structure, and a hands-on approach, not a fixed methodology.
HOW I WORKThe 3A Framework
Embedded as part of the team (not arm’s length)
Assess
I start in the business evaluating the operating cadence, how the team actually works, the assortment, the P&L. What’s working? Where are systems or clarity breaking down?
Outcome: a fast, honest read on the current state and agreement on where I can add the most value against the objectives we’ve set together.
The Loop
Act
From the assessment, I form hypotheses about what will actually move growth, then design small, fast experiments to test them.
Outcome: the direction the business is heading gets clearer, and you build momentum toward it instead of waiting on a finished strategy.
Align
This runs alongside Act, not after it. I bring hypotheses to your key stakeholders, gathering input, sharing findings and course corrections, and agreeing on the metrics we’ll hold ourselves accountable to.
Outcome: your leadership team and investors own the process and the outcomes, and everyone knows where progress stands against the goals.
Once results come in, we go back and ask whether the hypothesis held. Where it did, we scale it. Where it didn’t, we adjust and run it again. That second and third cycle is where most advisory relationships have already ended, and it’s why I prefer to stay embedded rather than handing over a plan and leaving you to implement.
Work I’ve Done
-
$500M+ private equity-owned apparel vendor. Partnered closely with the sales team on ideas for growth, aligned with senior leadership on priorities and focus areas, and developed tailored action plans for each sales channel.
Over double digit growth over 2 years was identified across all initiatives, with one-third of the dollars incorporated into the annual operating plan for the next year.
-
Manufacturer acquiring a brand; supported with integration planning for commercial workstreams (merchandising, planning, sales, sourcing), communications, and integration workshops.
-
E-commerce apparel company was looking to expand internationally and curious about what market to enter first. Sized 6 potential markets and researched trends through 1:1 interviews with potential ideal customers. Recommended a prioritized list of markets to pursue on demographics, qualitative findings, and business model considerations.
Before this, I was an executive at Hudson’s Bay Company (private brand merchandising and global sourcing across Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH, Lord & Taylor, Hudson’s Bay), opened the first 2 Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Canada, consulted on organizational change at Booz & Company, investment banking and private equity. Harvard MBA and a BS in Finance from Rutgers University.
NEXT STEPIs this a fit?
My consulting work is best suited to retail and consumer businesses roughly $50M - $500M+ in revenue; founder-led or private equity-backed facing a growth, transformation, or integration challenge that needs leadership expertise, fast.
If that’s you, the next step is a conversation.
(If you run a 7 figure business with a brick & mortar presence or in a creative industry, the Growth Acceleration Roadmap was built for you.)
